Christ’s Crucifixion: Suffering or Not?
Welcome to the Fortune Flourishing Fun “Forum” starting discussion on Christ’s crucifixion as a righteous sacrifice to take up God’s wrath for our sins…and/or as the flourishing climax to His miraculous life demonstrating the fortune of mankind’s inherent freedom from suffering.
Everyone is invited to comment on both scenarios. And we would love to see sincere sharing of thoughts and feelings from anyone and everyone of any faith or persuasion. In the future posts will explore other outstanding Bible stories such as the Last Supper.
Miceal Ledwith’s “How Jesus Became a Christ” Intro
“The first depiction of God crucified on a Cross, was the depiction of Orpheus, 3rd century before Christ. It’s sad to say for a very large part of the world’s population today, the central religious symbol is a person impaled in agony, on that instrument of torture. It’s little wonder that such a system should foster the belief that suffering is inevitable, or even desirable and good. And horror of horrors that it could be, in some warped way, seen as pleasing to God. And thus allow us to become so indifferent to suffering among the masses of humanity.
An empty cross symbolizes the descent of spirit into flesh and celebrates the evolution of that life back into its return. The crucifix by contrast only idealizes suffering and death, an attitude, which ultimately has to be said is not of God. Nothing misrepresents the teachings of Jesus more than the crucifix.” ~ Miceal Ledwith
Believing Jesus Suffered
is Like Believing the Earth is Flat
Fortune Flourishing Fun supports Ledwith’s shaking of conventional Christianity’s foundation. And we emphasize that believing Jesus suffered on the Cross is like believing the Earth is flat. Because 500 years before Christ, Greeks Pythagoras and Aristotle had calculated the Earth to be round. And it was Claudius Ptolemy (again, a Greek Philosopher, mathematician) around 140 AD who produced a map of it. But Medieval Christianity rejected Greek Theory without scientific proof to show that the Earth is in fact a globe and override everyday appearances of it being flat.
Now like that, Jesus was crucified 2000 years before modern medical science discovered endorphin pain killing hormones, as much or more powerful than morphine. Thus, only recent modern scientific knowledge of naturally produced endogenous pain killers has been able to give us the understanding and realization that during crucifixion Christ’s inner experience was painless.
Modern medical and holistic health care professionals have found that endorphins are naturally released when people experience sublime spiritual and/or pleasurable physical events, with such things as meditation and exercise; and pain, danger, and other forms of stress can also trigger natural endorphin secretion. So, we propose that Christ’s supremely sublime spiritual awareness triggered the secretion of ample endorphins for His experience of pain to be 100% eliminated.
FortuneFlourishingFun’s sister site/blog: FunInFitness.com, is also being launched to boldly explore how being Blissfit (totally sublime awareness and healthy physiology) Jesus performed miracles; and how we can truly follow Jesus by becoming Blissfit.
Jesus Suffered Pain
and Sacrificed Himself to Redeem Us
“I have gained salvation through my Lord Jesus Christ, not by my doing but by his …I did nothing but surrender and then from that experience stepping out in action (Established in the BEing of Christ I perform action)…not by meditating (though it is part of my life) or by “performing right action” (though it is part of my life that is more predominant now)…I did not set myself free…I was set free by the simple truth that the true prophets foretold hundreds of years before Yeshua came and what has been revealed to me directly by Yeshua and by God. It totally corresponds to the Bible and I have been expanded to understand such truth by God not by me.” ~ Christian Evangelist
Comment
Again, we invite you to comment on what, how, and why you agree or disagree with Christ suffering the torture of crucifixion to avenge God’s wrath for our sins and/or His glorious demonstration, being crucified and rising from the dead, that He didn’t suffer, and therefore that we are also inherently free from suffering.
